Analysis of Service and Satisfaction of Special Bicycle Lanes on Urban Roads

Bicycle lanes in Yogyakarta City have problems including uneven road surfaces, non-standard lane widths, and faded road markings. Minimal traffic signs and the placement of electric poles in bicycle lanes increase the potential for disruption to cyclists' comfort and safety. Analysis of service and satisfaction of bicycle lanes on urban roads on Jalan Patehan Lor and Jalan Nagan Kulon in Yogyakarta City is proposed using the Bicycle Level of Service (BLOS) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) methods. The service analysis on both roads obtained a BLOS E value, which means that the lanes do not meet the comfort standards for basic experienced cyclists. The satisfaction analysis found that lane width and road surface conditions are among the top priorities for improvement. The improvement strategies that need to be carried out are that the width of the lane and uneven road surface need to be repaired immediately, including widening the bicycle lane, repairing the road surface, painting the markings, and adding bicycle lane signs, speed limits, and cyclist priority signs.References
