Abstract

Manual parking systems are still widely used in various locations, particularly in shopping centers and public facilities. In this system, drivers are required to obtain a physical parking ticket at the entrance gate and search for an available parking spot without any digital assistance. This often results in long queues at entry points, wasted time spent looking for empty slots, and overall user inconvenience. Additionally, parking attendants face difficulties in accurately monitoring the number of incoming and outgoing vehicles. Physical tickets also pose risks of being lost or damaged. The ongoing digital transformation in the transportation sector highlights the need for smart, efficient, and integrated parking systems. This study aims to design and develop an intelligent parking system based on digital reservation and electronic ticket scanning to enhance operational efficiency and user convenience. The system is developed as a web-based application accessible via smartphones, allowing users to reserve parking slots in real time and enter the parking area by scanning an electronic ticket in the form of a QR code. The application development process includes several key stages: user requirements analysis, interface and system structure design, implementation, and web-based application testing. The resulting application is expected to help users save time by reducing parking wait times, optimize parking space utilization through better rotation, and simplify centralized, real-time transaction data management.
