Hazard And Risk Management In BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) Operator Workshop

Lack of implementation of occupational safety and health and control of work accidents in workshops are the main causes of work accidents. Every public transportation company is important to have safety management standards by implementing a safety management system. Companies that employ more than 100 people and have a high level of potential hazards are required to have an OHS plan. Identification of hazards and risks is an initial step to minimize the increase in the number of accident cases. This study aims to prevent accidents and determine the source of danger from each activity that can cause work accidents in workshops using the ROADC (Risk Opportunity Assessment and Determining Control) method. This study will produce a risk level figure based on the severity and frequency of occurrence which will later be used as a basis for describing the potential for work accidents and the factors causing an accident and providing control recommendations. The results of the analysis based on 10 activities in the workshop contained 28 potential hazards. 12 potential hazards with a medium to high risk category, 7 potential hazards with a medium risk category, 7 potential hazards with a high risk category, and 2 potential hazards with a low to medium risk category. The activity of using a grinding machine is the activity that causes the most dangers and risks. Risk control in this study is in accordance with the control hierarchy, namely elimination, substitution, technical control, administrative control, and personal protective equipment.References
