Abstract

Situational awareness of public transport drivers has an important role in transportation safety. Measurement of the level of alertness of Perum DAMRI drivers is proposed using the QUASA (Quantitative Analysis of Situational Awareness) method. The method used was descriptive quantitative and qualitative with a sample of 86 respondents from a total population of 627 drivers. Data were collected through documentation (accident data and driver data), and questionnaires (driver alertness test data), analyzed using awareness calibration, Signal Detection Theory (SDT), and sensitivity and bias calculations. The results showed that the driver's actual accuracy value was 61.9%, lower than the perceived accuracy which reached 82.1%. The driver's alertness level only reached 65.4%, which is still below the safe limit. Sensitivity analysis shows that drivers are able to distinguish between signals and noise, but with a level of accuracy that still needs to be improved. The bias calculation results show that drivers tend to have difficulties in dealing with ambiguous stimuli. Emphasizing the importance of increasing driver vigilance through training, stricter.
