Abstract

The rapid development of technology makes us continue to innovate, especially in the field of technology. Internet
of Things (IoT) is an example of technological advancement with the aim of simplifying human performance that
can be applied, one of which is in the parking system area. In general, the parking system in Indonesia is still
controlled manually by going around all parking locations to get empty parking lots. One of the problems in the
parking system in malls in Indonesia is that there is no system used to detect the availability of the number of
empty parking spaces and the location of empty parking spaces in the basement. In certain situations such as
during rainy weather or on weekends, parking attendants have difficulty managing parking lots because there are too many incoming vehicles making it difficult for parking attendants or motorists to find empty parking spaces. These problems can be resolved by providing solutions utilizing the Arduino R3 microcontroller by making a
prototype parking information system sensor using LCD and parking location using LED as a research. This development research uses the ADDIE method as a structured framework stage for the development of instructional interventions that involve evaluation and revision at each step. Testing is done using the Black Box Testing method through simulation with a miniature parking lot, where the system automatically receives from the ultrasonic sensor. The results of making this prototype, obtained a percentage of the success of testing the monitoring system 100% in other words, researchers have succeeded in making a parking lot monitoring system that is more effective and efficient.
