Aggressive driving behavior is one of the factors contributing to the increased risk of traffic accidents, especially in urban public transportation operations. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of speed, acceleration, and deceleration of SATRIA bus drivers in Kediri City and identify indicators of aggressive driving behavior based on real-time GPS data. This study uses a field observation method by recording speed data using a GPS Speedometer application on two SATRIA bus operational routes. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and a threshold-based event analysis approach to identify incidents of speeding, harsh acceleration, and harsh braking. The results show that the average vehicle speed on both routes is still below the regulatory limit of 40 km/h, namely 31.8 km/h on route 1 and 28.4 km/h on route 2. Analysis of aggressiveness indicators shows that speeding behavior is the dominant indicator with a total of 1,718 incidents during the observation period. Only two incidents of harsh acceleration were found and no incidents of harsh braking were found. These findings indicate that the aggressiveness pattern of SATRIA Bus drivers is more concentrated on exceeding the speed limit than on vehicle control instability. The results of this study can be the basis for developing a GPS data-based driver behavior monitoring system to improve the operational safety of urban public transportation.
