Abstract

Floating jetty in coastal tourism areas are often used as supporting facilities for marine tourism activities (tourist boat transportation, snorkeling, diving, and water sports). The safety of tourists on the floating jetty often faces high risks. Tourist perceptions of the safety of the floating jetty at Alam Indah Beach are proposed to be assessed. Data were collected using a questionnaire from 102 respondents (tourists) with 4 answer choices, each of which has a weight. Weighting calculations are carried out and the results are entered into the assessment categories. The results of tourist perceptions gave an assessment in the fairly good category. The aspects of stability and capacity were the highest with a good perception category compared to the aspects of safety facilities and safety conditions in the fairly good category, while the aspects of safety procedures were in the less good category. Perception assessments can be used by managers to make improvements to the floating jetty with redesigns as an effort to increase safety, comfort, and tourist attractions that will encourage sustainable tourism and economic development.
