Abstract

Tegal City faces significant challenges in providing an efficient public transportation system that supports community activities. This study aims to analyze the condition of infrastructure and public transportation services in Tegal City, as well as provide data-based improvement recommendations. The research method used a quantitative approach with a questionnaire instrument distributed to 113 respondents through stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, user satisfaction index (USI), multiple linear regression analysis, and evaluation of spatial network efficiency (SNE). The results showed that the public transportation infrastructure in Tegal City is not yet optimal with a user satisfaction index of 67.5% (fairly satisfied category) and a spatial network efficiency of 0.68 (below the ideal standard of 0.8). Principal component analysis identified five factors that influence user satisfaction, with physical infrastructure and service reliability as the dominant factors. Improvement recommendations include enhancing the quality of bus stops, optimizing routes, and developing public awareness programs about the importance of sustainable public transportation.
